Scotland's Six Nations Odds Affected By Hogg Injury?

Allister Hogg has been told he will miss the entire season because of surgery he will require to a hip injury.

This means the Scotland forward will not be able to play for his country in the 2010 RBS Six Nations tournament, with Scotland already the outsiders at 22/1 with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports »).

The Edinburgh flanker made his debut against Wales in the event five years ago, but was informed he will not be eligible for next year's championship after his side lost 16-9 to Bath earlier this week.

Commenting on the damage sustained by the 26-year-old, Edinburgh coach Rob Moffat confirmed there is a tear in his hip muscle that will require an operation.

He remarked: "It means he will be out of action for six months so will not be available for selection for the Six Nations."

France are the early favourites for the tournament, with bookmaker Stan James(Go to Stan James ») offering odds of 7/4 on them winning.
