Cardiff Blues 'boosted By Double Signing'
Hooker Gareth Williams has turned down the chance to move to France by signing a new deal with Cardiff Blues.The region agreed a three-year contract with the hooker, who has seven Welsh caps in addition to 119 appearances for the Blues.
Meanwhile, lock Deiniol Jones put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the Cardiff City Stadium until 2012.
He holds the record for most appearances for the region at 138 and director of rugby David Young remarked: "Deiniol has been one of our most consistent players over recent seasons and the type of guy you don't really appreciate until he's not playing."
Williams, meanwhile, noted that his new contract will take him up to ten years with the region and he is aiming to win silverware.
Cardiff are currently in eighth place in the Magners League and are not expected to take the title this season, with Bet365(Go to Bet365 ») pricing them at 12/1 to win the Grand Final, although Stan James(Go to Stan James ») offers odds of 11/1.
