Croft To Miss Six Nations Matches

England flanker Tom Croft will not feature in the opening two games of England's RBS Six Nations campaign due to damage sustained to his knee ligament.

The Leicester forward had to come off the field in the Tigers' 47-8 win over Viadana in the Heineken Cup on Saturday (January 16th) and the extent of the injury was discovered soon after.

"A scan has confirmed that Tom Croft sustained a grade two medial cruciate ligament injury to his left knee in the Heineken Cup game against Viadana last weekend," a statement for the Rugby Football Union noted.

According to the organisation, with the correct rehabilitation, Croft may return in approximately five to six weeks' time.

The 24-year-old had featured just twice for the Tigers after recovering from a problem in the same knee.

England are set to face Wales in the opening match of the Six Nations, with Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») and Skybet(Go to Skybet ») both considering Martin Johnson's men 8/13 favourites for the win.
