Wales' Six Nation Odds Affected By Powell Dismissal?
Wales have announced that Andy Powell has been taken out of the 35-man line-up following a drink-driving incident involving a golf buggy. The back-row forward was removed from the team after he was arrested close to the Wales team hotel for behaviour in opposition "to the squad's code of conduct."
According to the Welsh Rugby Union, the 28-year-old's dismissal will be with immediate effect and manager Alan Phillips stated this kind of occurrence "cannot be tolerated".
He remarked: "We take matters of player conduct extremely seriously and have been happy with the professionalism and discipline of this squad in general terms."
Phillips added that Powell has made private apologies to both his teammates and the hotel over his conduct.
Wales recently defeated Scotland 31-24 at the Millenium Stadium and next face tournament favourites France on February 26th.
Warren Gatland's men are currently 6/4 with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports ») and Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet »), while Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») has their opponents at 8/13.
