Steve Jones Signs Two-year Dragons Deal
Newport Gwent Dragons hooker Steve Jones has penned a new contract that will see him remain at the region for another two years. According to the club, the Neath-born athlete has been a "great servant" during his time with the squad.
Commenting on his decision to stick at Rodney Parade, Jones said he is still enjoying playing alongside his teammates and it is presently an interesting period to stay where he is.
"We have a strong group of players and with a lot of home-grown talent coming through," he said. "There is a great atmosphere in the camp and a really strong team spirit."
Rugby manager for the Dragons Robert Beale stated that Jones is a central part of the line-up and will feature prominently in the region's future plans.
The signing may encourage fans of the Welsh side, with bookmakers currently listing them as rank outsiders to win the Magners League this campaign.
Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») and 888Sport(Go to 888sport ») both have them at 100/1.
