Roberts Seals Three-year Sale Contract

Eifion-Lewis Roberts has penned a contract with Sale Sharks that will see him remain at the club for another three years.

Nicknamed the Fridge at Sale's Carrington training camp, the 21-stone prop is the heaviest man playing in his position in the Guinness Premiership.

Sharks director of rugby Kingsley Jones expressed his pleasure that Roberts decided to stick with the team, despite a recent run of poor results that has seen them drop into the relegation zone.

Jones said: "There was a lot of competition for his services both from abroad and the Welsh regions."

According to Welshman Roberts, he is "delighted" to continue being a part of the squad and noted that his loyalty to Jones had some sway in his decision.

The news may provide encouragement for Sale fans, who have seen their side emerge as one of the favourites to finish bottom, with Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») and 888Sport(Go to 888sport ») offering odds of 5/1 on this happening.
