Collingwood ton drives England forward
Paul Collingwood took on some aggressive West Indies bowling and fielding to notch his eighth Test century on the second day of the third Test in Antigua, putting England firmly in the driving seat. On an increasingly unpredictable wicket divided by the halfway line markings of a football pitch, Collingwood hit 113 - including 14 fours - as England declared on 566-9. Kevin Pietersen, favourite in the cricket betting to be England's top-scoring batsman of the series, managed 51 before Jerome Taylor's pace bowling caught him out after lunch. Within three balls, Taylor also had the scalp of Andrew Flintoff but scores of 39 from Matt Prior, 44 from Stuart Broad and 20 from Graeme Swann saw England to their best day of the tour so far. At the close of the second day, the West Indies were 55-1 after the wicket of captain Chris Gayle fell to Steve Harmison for 30. The hosts need 312 to avoid the follow-on. Paul Collingwood has now moved up to third in the cricket betting to be England's best performing batsman of the tour.
