Bell given Lions chance

Ian Bell has been named in the England Lions team to face the West Indies next week, a move that could boost his chances of returning to the Test squad. The Warwickshire batsman has already scored a pair of centuries for his county this season, having been dropped from the national side during the winter tour of the Caribbean. And a good performance in the four-day match at Derby could well see him stake a claim for the Ashes series, as national selector Geoff Miller remarked: "This is a really exciting summer for cricket in England and Wales and the Lions matches are excellent opportunities for players to push for England places."Rob Key continues as captain for the Lions, while Samit Patel has been included in the side after being dropped from England's one-day squad because of concerns over his fitness.England are currently 4/6 favourites for the Test series in the online cricket betting market, despite losing on their trip to the West Indies earlier this year. The tourists, meanwhile, are given odds of 6/1 by Paddy Power.
