England cruise through first day
Centuries from Ravi Bopara and Alistair Cook appear to have put England on their way to reclaiming the Wisden Trophy. The hosts will resume on 302-2 on the second day at the Riverside, having already beaten the West Indies in the first of their two tests.Captain Andrew Strauss elected to bat first and the war of words between he and opposite number Chris Gayle - which waged in the build up to the Test - culminated in the latter dismissing Strauss for 26.But Bopara's 108 and Cook's unbeaten 126 left England comfortable at the close of play, with nightwatchman James Anderson set to resume on four.A draw would be enough for England to take back the trophy they lost on their recent tour of the Caribbean and Sportingbet rates that as the most likely outcome - with odds of 1/2.Punters can get odds of 7/4 with Ladbrokes that England will complete the whitewash, while the West Indies are priced 33/1 to level affairs.
