Collingwood: We are ready for a sledging
England captain Paul Collingwood has admitted that his side need to be wary of the Australian's psychological tactics when the Ashes Test series begins next month. The visiting side are notorious for 'sledging', in which the opposing batsmen are verbally distracted by the fielding team to try and gain an edge. However, Collingwood said that his team will be ready for anything the Australians can throw at them. "It's very much a part of their culture but we have some strong characters who can deal with it should it come along," he remarked. While he confirmed the home side will be prepared for a sledging, the all-rounder also commented that England "won't go looking for it".The England skipper had a well-documented clash with former Aussie spin-bowler Shane Warne on the latter's final Test in 2007, but allegedly came off second-best. Victor Chandler (Go to VCBet ») currently has the visiting side as the favourites at 5/4. Those looking to bet on England can find odds of 9/4 at Expekt (Go to Expekt »).
