Pakistan reach Twenty20 final
Pakistan have knocked out South Africa to reach the finals of the World Twenty20 Cup for the second consecutive time. Shahid Afredi was the 2007 finalists' star performer after he hit 50 runs from 32 balls and then bowled out both Herschelle Gibbs and AB De Villiers. Captain Younus Khan elected to put his team into bat and Pakistan went on to score 149 runs for four from their 20 overs, with Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik also making notable contributions of 23 and 34 respectively. Once South Africa came into bat, Jaques Kallis started well for the Proteas hitting seven boundaries towards a 46-ball half-century before being caught out by Malik from a Saeed Ajmal delivery on 64. The tournament favourites were then contained by Pakistan for the remainder of the overs and finished seven shy of their required run rate on 142 for five.Pakistan's place in the finals has earned them odds of 11/10 to win the World Twenty20 tournament at 888Sport (Go to 888sport »).
