England progress to Super Eights
England have secured a place in the Super Eights phase of the World Twenty20 Cup after defeating Pakistan on Sunday. Despite losing to the Netherlands on Friday, England bested the 2007 finalists by 48 runs, guaranteeing them a place in the next stage as their net run rate cannot be matched. Kevin Pietersen replaced Eoin Morgan after being cleared fit from an Achilles problem. He scored 58 runs in a 185-5 victory. Two other changes were made to the England side with Ryan Sidebottom and Robert Key being replaced by Graeme Swann and Dimitri Mascarenhas.Pakistan captain Younus Khan was not out for 46 runs after 31 balls, but this was not enough catch England and they finished on 137-7 after 20 overs.
