Flintoff: Australia have lost quality players

Andrew Flintoff has stated that Australia have lost a number of key players in the lead up to the Ashes, which starts today in Cardiff. The England all-rounder also hinted that this could have an effect on the final outcome of the series as new faces are brought in. He said: "When you lose some of the players of the quality that Australia have, it is going to have an impact."While he admitted that the visiting side had a "knack of finding people to fill these voids", Flintoff commented that it would give England some confidence. Only recently fit himself, the Yorkshireman was thankful he sustained his injury in the Indian Premier League so that he would be fully recovered for the Ashes. Australia will be missing Brett Lee for the first Test at the Sophia Gardens in Glamorgan through an abdominal tear. Centrebet (Go to Centrebet ») has Australia as a slight favourite at 21/10 over England's 23/10 to win the Ashes outright. Those looking to bet on Flintoff to be the home team's highest run scorer can find him at 20/1 with Paddy Power (Go to Paddy Power »).
