Lee injury causes Ashes doubts
Brett Lee may not appear as part of the Australian team for the first Test of the Ashes in Cardiff later this week due to an injury. The 32-year-old reported problems to his side after a warm-up match with the English Lions and will undergo a scan to surmise the extent of the injury today. After taking seven wickets for 114 at the preliminary game in New Road, the loss of the fast bowler might cause problems for the visiting side. A spokesperson for the squad said: "He has a sore left rib, but we won't know the extent of it until the scans are back", adding: "We're in a holding pattern until then."Lee last made a Test appearance against South Africa in December 2008. The first Test of this year's Ashes begins on Wednesday and Australia are currently the favourites at 13/8 with Extrabet (Go to Extrabet »). Sportingbet (Go to Sportingbet ») offers England at odds of 2/1.
