Strauss confident of Freddie for Ashes

He commented: "He's absolutely determined to play in these last three Test matches and it will take something pretty dramatic for him not to take the field on Thursday."Flintoff is suffering from a problem with his knee and has remarked that he intends to retire from Test match cricket after the Ashes due to the accumulation of damage he has sustained in his career. Strauss also stated that Ian Bell will replace the injured Kevin Pietersen and will bat at number four.
