Collingwood Test future in doubt
England all-rounder Paul Collingwood has admitted that his test career could be in doubt after struggling to bat well in the team's Ashes victory over Australia. While he had a key part to play in the home side's draw in the first Test at Cardiff, the 33-year-old only managed to score 42 runs throughout the remainder of the series, the Telegraph reports.
He said: "I know I am going to have to tinker a bit with technique and become a better player to be able to stay in the side."
Collingwood faces competition from Jonathan Trott, whose second innings at the Oval saw him achieve 119 runs, as well as Kevin Pietersen's return from an Achilles complaint.
Those confident of Collingwood's ability can bet on him at 7/1 with Betfred(Go to Betfred ») to be England's top batsman at the upcoming Twenty20 match with Australia on August 30th.
Odds of Trott scoring the most runs are slightly shorter with Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») offering 5/1.
