ODI cricket - White odds shorten after century

Cameron White's odds of being Australia's top batsman in the fourth one-day international (ODI) against England have shortened following a solid performance in the third match.

White hit 105 for the Aussies after replacing Ricky Ponting as third batsman, meaning the visitors take a 3-0 lead in the ODI series between the two teams.

Stand-in captain Michael Clarke was quick to commend the 26-year-old's performance, which has seen his odds of being the highest scoring batsman in the fourth ODI drop to 4/1 with Bet365(Go to Bet365 »).

Clarke stated: "For Whitey it's been about opportunity. He's been given the chance to go out at number three and he's grabbed that opportunity with both hands."

White and Clarke put on a partnership of 137 runs, with Australia beating England's score of 228-9 by six wickets.

Those aware that Ricky Ponting is likely to resume his third place spot in the next ODI after being rested may prefer to tip him as leading scorer for the fixture at 3/1 with Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes »).
