Cricket Odds - Strauss Calls For England Consistency
England captain Andrew Strauss has urged his side to be consistent ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy. Following a 6-1 loss in the one-day internationals against Australia, it is important that England keep healthy after a gruelling summer campaign, Strauss remarked.
"You need to be as fit as possible and when you have got opportunities to have a rest, you need to take them," he commented, adding that "a consistent level of performance" is vital.
According to the 32-year-old, the ICC Champions Trophy is one of the biggest events in the sport, admitting that it is "quite intoxicating" to stay in the same hotels with the best cricketers from around the world.
Held in South Africa, the tournament will see England open against Sri Lanka, with the Ashes winners offered at 6/4 with Skybet(Go to Skybet »).
Stan James(Go to Stan James ») considers the hosts the likeliest to lift the trophy, with odds available at 13/5 on the Proteas.
