ICC Betting - Strauss Praises England Batting
Andrew Strauss has praised England's batting after the team defeated ICC Champions Trophy hosts South Africa by 22 runs yesterday (September 28th). England's odds of winning the tournament have now shortened to 9/2 with Expekt(Go to Expekt ») and captain Strauss told Sky Sports News that it was the most impressive batting performance he has seen from the side.
"I think it's the best I've ever seen England bat, the way the guys went about playing their shots," he remarked.
Owais Shah had a particularly good game, Strauss stated, managing 98 runs with six sixes.
Paul Collingwood and Eoin Morgan were also highlighted for their showing, hitting 82 and 67 respectively.
England ended on 323-8, with the Proteas falling short on 301 all out, despite captain Graeme Smith scoring 141.
The win sees England move through to the semi-finals of the ICC Trophy with one game to spare, although punters can still back them over New Zealand in the final Group B match-up at 4/5 with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power »).
