Cricket Betting News - England Odds Better With Pietersen Return?
England's odds of beating South Africa in the upcoming Test series between the two teams could be improved by Andrew Strauss' comments that Kevin Pietersen is likely to feature. The England skipper told Sky Sports News that there is "encouraging" information that Pietersen will be available for the series and possibly a number of the preceding one-day internationals.
"He's a massive player for us and having him in the side in South Africa is going to be a huge reassurance for us," he remarked, adding that it has been "frustrating" for the batsman to be out of competition for so long.
Pietersen has been troubled by an Achilles injury that caused him to drop out of the Ashes earlier this year, which became infected after surgery.
South Africa are currently 1/2 favourites with Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet ») to win the Test series, while Coral(Go to Coral ») is offering odds of 4/1 on an England victory.
