Cricket Betting - Strauss: England Are Prepared
Andrew Strauss has acknowledged that his England side will face a tough task as they kick off their one-day international series against South Africa, but has insisted they are well-prepared for the challenge. The hosts are set to go into the opening game in Johannesburg looking for revenge after England's recent victory over them in the ICC Champions Trophy.
And since that last meeting ended on a bitter note, as England captain Strauss declined to allow his opposite number Graeme Smith a runner, he has revealed that he expects to see some "aggressive and in your face" cricket over the series.
"We know that - and we're prepared for it as well," he stated.
Meanwhile, the captain has also hinted that he could give James Tredwell his international debut in the opening ODI match, with the spinner expected to step in for the injured Graeme Swann.
Despite the bullish attitude from Strauss, England remain the underdogs, with Totesport(Go to Totesport ») offering 3/8 on a South Africa series victory, while a drawn series is 26/5 with Betfair(Go to Betfair »).
