Cricket Betting - Flower: Anderson Not Playing
England's hopes of winning Wednesday's (December 9th) tour match against South African Invitational XI could be lower now that James Anderson has been ruled out. Andy Flower confirmed that the seamer is still being troubled by damage sustained to his knee and is currently receiving injections to allay the pain.
The coach said: "He won't play in the first two days of this preparation here but will play in the second two-day game - and then, we hope, be ready for the Test match."
According to Flower, Anderson has reacted well to treatment given to the mystery injury, which has shown no structural harm to the joint on scans.
Durham seamer Mark Davies has been added to the team's squad to act as a replacement for Anderson.
England are currently underdogs to defeat South Africa in the Test series later this month, with Coral(Go to Coral ») offering odds of 7/2 that the visitors will win.
Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») has the Proteas at 4/6 to come away victorious.
