Cricket Betting - Anderson 'a Risk For First Test'
Andrew Strauss has admitted that England are taking a chance by playing James Anderson in the first Test against South Africa on December 16th. Anderson bowled 15 overs against a South Africa Invitational XI at Buffalo Park recently, but has been struggling with an injury to his knee.
Strauss said that despite the niggle, he is not "overly concerned" about the seamer's performance.
"There is an element of risk, but a small one," he remarked, adding: "Even when his knee has been hurting quite a lot, it still hasn't prevented him from bowling."
While the skipper remains confident, he noted that Anderson's progress will have to be monitored closely before he can be deemed fit for the contest at Centurion.
Those looking to bet on England during their tour of South Africa can find them at 3/1 with Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet ») to win the Test series outright.
Betdaq(Go to Betdaq ») currently considers the Proteas to be the favourite and is offering odds of 13/20 that they will come away victorious.
