Trott: I've Had No Complaints Over Style
England batsman Jonathan Trott has fought back at South African captain Graeme Smith's criticism of his batting style. Smith has voiced grievances with the way in which Trott prepares for each ball, which he noted holds up the play.
However, the Warwickshire player denies that he is intentionally frustrating the opposition and said it is just the way he gears himself up for the game.
"I've never really had any complaints before," said Trott. "I don't play cricket to get under people's skin."
According to the 28-year-old, it is this preparation that has enabled him to become a part of the England team.
"I won't be trying to do anything different to what I know best," he added.
His comments come after England secured a draw in the opening Test of a series against South Africa, in which Trott got a second innings of 69.
The Proteas remain the favourites overall in the series, with bookmakers Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports ») and Betfred(Go to Betfred ») both offering odds of 8/11 on them winning.
