Bell Is A "high-quality Player"
Andy Flower has put his support behind Ian Bell after the England batsman only achieved seven runs in the side's first Test against Australia. The visitors managed to hold out for a draw in the game at Centurion, but Bell was dismissed early in both innings.
However, Flower has given the 27-year-old a vote of confidence, claiming he is a "high-quality player".
"He's just had a tough Test match," the England coach stated. "He made a misjudgement in the first innings and then got 'nicked off' in the second."
Bell put together quite a few runs in the pre-tour games and the team are fully behind him, he added.
The next Test will see England face the Proteas at Durban on Boxing Day, with the home side emerging as early 13/8 favourites with a number of bookmakers, including Totesport(Go to Totesport »).
