Onions Ruled Out Of Bangladesh Series

England seamer Graham Onions has been ruled out of the two-match Test series with Bangladesh after suffering a back injury.

The 27-year-old is to fly home after the problem was revealed to be worse than originally thought.

He had been available at 12/1 with Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») to finish the series as top wicket taker, with Greame Swann the favourite at 10/11 with William Hill(Go to William Hill »).

However, his exclusion has been offset by the return of Stuart Broad, who appears to be winning his fitness battle.

The first match has been overshadowed, however, by the news that 22-year-old Bangladesh batsman Raqibul Hasan has opted to quit the sport.

Bangladesh Cricket Board spokesman Jalal Yunus said: "We have got a letter from Raqibul saying he has retired from all forms of international cricket. He did not mention any reason."

England remain strong favourites to win the opener at Chittagong, with Expekt(Go to Expekt ») pricing them at 3/10.
