Singh Guides Mumbai Closer To IPL Title

Harbhajan Singh was the hero of the day for the Mumbai Indians as they beat the Deccan Chargers in the latest round of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Indian international hit 49 runs off 18 balls and returned figures of 3-31 to ensure that they emerged victorious.

After the win, his side are now 9/4 favourites with Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») to be crowned champions, while Singh is 8/1 with Stan James(Go to Stan James ») to end up as the top bowler.

Speaking to the IPL's official website, Singh noted that it was not a last-minute decision to open the bowling, despite the difficulties it can bring for a spinner.

He remarked that the side had a belief that they could succeed in any game and that he is pleased with how everything has gone for the team.

"The last minutes of [our innings] was when the match really turned - luckily all the shots I was trying I was middling them," he added.
