Pietersen Wants More IPL Participation From England
Kevin Pietersen believes the England bowling attack could have gained vital experience by playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).With the Twenty20 World Cup looming, the England side are 8/1 with Skybet(Go to Skybet ») to take the title, while Australia are the favourites for the competition with Totesport(Go to Totesport ») at 4/1.
Stuart Broad and James Anderson are just two of the probable selections for this summer's tournament who decided to shun the IPL, in favour of rest.
And Pietersen noted that he thinks it was a bad decision, adding: "A lot of our players should definitely have put their names in the hat."
England's first game in the event will be an encounter with Ireland and they will be wary after having previously lost to the Netherlands.
But they are 1/10 with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») to take the scalp of the Irish, while Pietersen remarked their chances may have been better if more players had gained experience in the IPL.
