Matthew Hoggard Would Love To Play For England Again

Matthew Hoggard has revealed that he is desperate to play for England again.

The 33-year-old seamer, who has claimed 248 wickets in his 67 Tests, has not represented the three lions since March 2008.

He will not be part of the squad that flies out to the Tewnty20 World Cup, as England kick off their campaign against the West Indies.

They are 5/6 with Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») to emerge victorious from that encounter, while Bet365(Go to Bet365 ») is offering odds of 9/1 on the side lifting the trophy.

Hoggard told Sky Sports News: "You always want to play for your country and if you don't then you shouldn't be playing cricket, or any sport for that matter."

The Leicestershire captain also revealed that he backs Stuart Broad's decision to miss the Indian Premier League in order to rest.

It comes after Kevin Pietersen said it is disappointing that more England bowlers did not take the chance to travel to the competition.
