Ravi Bopara Ready For Twenty20 World Cup

Ravi Bopara has revealed that he is ready to perform for England in the Twenty20 World Cup.

The batsman endured a torrid Ashes series after scoring three centuries in a row against the West Indies, which saw him lose his place in the side.

England begin their preparation with a warm-up game against Bangladesh and they are 1/5 with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») to record a victory.

They are sixth favourites for the championship, with Totesport(Go to Totesport ») offering odds of 9/1.

Kevin Pietersen is likely to miss that game as he spends time with his pregnant wife, leaving Bopara a chance to show the selectors what he can do.

"I've just gone out and tried to play my best cricket [in the winter] and thankfully some of that has paid off and got me the call-up here," he added.

Bopara stated that he had treated the Indian Premier League as a "shop window", using it as a platform to remind people of his ability.
