Nadal hailed as Wimbledon ambassador
Rafael Nadal's ability to transfer his skills from the clay courts to grass has been praised by the chairman of the All England Club.Tim Phillips noted that the reigning Wimbledon champion has given the game a significant boost by not shunning the surface as other clay specialists have done.Nadal is currently 6/4 favourite with Stan James to retain his title, a feat that would see him pick up &163;750,000 is in part due to ambassadors such as the world number one."He's shown if you can play on clay you can play on anything. I really take my hat off to him," said the chairman.The clay court season is currently in full swing, with Nadal having defeated Novak Djokovic in the final of the Monte Carlo Masters at the weekend.He is currently taking part in the Barcelona Open, for which he is 1/6 favourite with Betfred.
