Murray: I did not cheat

Tennis player Andy Murray has refuted accusations that he cheated against Ernests Gulbis at the Queen's Club tournament last year.Latvian Gulbis claimed that the British number one took an unnecessary medical time out in the third set to disrupt the flow of the game. Murray has hit back by saying the injury caused him to pull out of the next round and that he has never resorted to tactics that "certain players have used" to tip the match in their favour. He said: "I have never done it - it's not part of the sport. It's a form of cheating - it's bending the rules to gain an advantage."Injury breaks, toilet visits and needless delays were all methods the Scotsman highlighted as ways in which players hold up a match, but added that he did not use them. The controversial comments from Gulbis may intensify his upcoming Wimbledon second-round match with Murray and BGBet (Go to BGBet ») have the world number three as the favourite at odds of 1/16. Roger Federer remains the favourite to win the tournament at 4/6 with Totesport (Go to Totesport »).
