Murray: Gonzales "too good"
Andrew Murray has been defeated in the quarter-finals of the French Open by Fernando Gonzales. The world number three was beaten by the Chilean in four sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4, ending his chances of being the only Brit other than Tim Henman to reach the semi-finals of the tournament since open play began. Gonzales, who is 4/1 to win the tournament at Bet365 , has said he wanted to put Murray under pressure and noted the third seeds' lack of experience on clay courts as an advantage. The British number one commended the number ten seed on his strong forehand: "No-one's hit the ball that big. If that happens, sometimes you've got to say, 'too good'."Gonzales will now meet Robin Soderling in the semi-finals after the Swede dominated his quarter-final match against Russian Nikolay Davydenko 6-1, 6-3, 6-1.Betfair currently give odds of 5/6 on Gonzales to beat Soderling, while Roger Federer is still touted as most likely to win the open at 10/11 with 888 Sport.
