US Open Betting - Federer Favourite For 6th Title

Roger Federer is the bookmakers' favourite going into today's US Open final with Juan Martin del Potro.

Federer - who is 1/4 at Totesport(Go to Totesport ») to lift the title for a 6th consecutive time - defeated semi-final opponent Novak Djokovic 7-6, 7-5, 7-5 at Arthur Ashe Stadium yesterday (September 13th).

Commenting on the prospect of winning the Flushing Meadows tournament, the Swiss player admitted it would be special to win the Grand Slam as a new father.

He remarked: "It will be great to get the first slam as a dad ... Keep the momentum going, win three in a row."

The 28-year-old also complimented his opponent, saying that del Potro "played wonderfully" in his victory over Spaniard Rafael Nadal, adding that a player "always needs a good performance" to beat the world number two.
