Federer 2010 Odds To Rise After Award Win?

World number one Roger Federer has been recognised as the International Tennis Federation champion for the 2009 season.

Having already clinched the prize on five previous occasions, the Swiss stated that it is "an honour" to receive the award again.

Currently available at 1/3 with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») to win a Grand Slam title in the next campaign, Federer secured two of the coveted competitions in 2009, including his first French Open victory.

He said: "To win my first Roland Garros title, break the all-time Grand Slam record and regain the [number one] ranking is amazing."

Aside from these performances, the 28-year-old also came runner up in the Australia Open and the US Open, where he was defeated by Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin del Potro respectively.

Those looking to put money on Federer correcting one of these results this year can find odds of 5/2 with William Hill(Go to William Hill ») that he will land the Australian Open title.
