Murray 'hoping To Make A Difference' At Australian Open

World number four Andy Murray has noted that his ability to break the serve of his opponents might make a difference in the Australian Open this year.

The young Scot eased past South African Kevin Anderson in the opening round of the tournament 6-1, 6-1, 6-2.

Commenting on his performance, Murray admitted he is pleased to go further in the event and highlighted his ability to break Anderson's serve as particularly important.

"He didn't get broken in the whole of qualifying and he is 6 ft 8 in," he remarked. "But I got off to a good start and broke him straight away."

Despite a comprehensive victory, the top ranked Brit may be concerned over his first serves after only achieving a 28 per cent success rate in the starting set.

Murray is currently 6/1 with William Hill(Go to William Hill ») to secure his first Grand Slam trophy at the Australian Open, while Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet ») has Roger Federer as a 14/5 favourite.
