Straight Sets Win Sees Murray In Fourth Round

British number one Andy Murray has secured a place in the fourth round of the Australian Open after beating Florent Serra in straight sets.

The Scot won 7-5, 6-1, 6-4, but had his serve broken three times by Serra, possibly due to a back injury he sustained in the opening set.

Murray recorded 14 aces and 49 winners on his way to victory, while he may not be as pleased with the 28 unforced errors he committed.

The 22-year-old had a rollercoaster first set, flying into a 3-0 lead and having five break chances to go 4-0 up, with the Frenchman finally holding his serve.

Neither men seemed able to win their service games, with Murray losing his next two and Serra failing in three.

The next two sets were easier for Murray and he closed the match out without much further trouble, cementing his fourth-round match-up with John Isner or Gael Monfils.

World number four Murray is currently 5/1 with Stan James(Go to Stan James ») to win the Australian Open, while 888Sport(Go to 888sport ») considers Roger Federer the favourite at 11/4.
