Roddick Looks For Fourth SAP Title

Andy Roddick moved a step closer to clinching his fourth SAP Open title in six years as he made it into the quarter finals by beating Leonardo Mayer.

The American lifted the trophy in 2004, 2005 and 2008 and breezed past the Argentine 6-3, 6-1 in an hour and 14 minutes.

Commenting on his performance, the former world number one said that it was "a good match" for him, as he was able to impose his game.

He remarked: "I thought that forced him to play a bit more aggressively on the first ball of a point which in turn creates a little bit of a more hit-or-miss deal for him."

Roddick is currently favoured with most bookmakers to secure the tournament and is available with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») at 11/8.

Betfair(Go to Betfair ») considers second-seed Fernando Verdasco as most likely to challenge the big-serving 27-year-old and is offering odds of 76/25 on the Spaniard winning the event.
