Tsonga: I Want To Retain My Title
Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has admitted that winning the Marseilles Open for a second year in a row will be a "challenge". Tsonga won the Open 13 crown last year and was quick to note that he would be breaking a record if he managed to secure the championship again in 2010.
"No player has ever retained his title in Marseille, so I know what my challenge is but let's go step by step," he remarked.
The recent Australian Open finalist finished a tough match with fellow countryman Josselin Ouanna to make it into the third round, winning 7-6 6-4.
Commenting on his performance, Tsonga claimed he was out of practice, having not played regularly for three weeks.
Being up against Ouanna was also difficult because he is a friend, the 24-year-old stated.
Both Betfred(Go to Betfred ») and Bet365(Go to Bet365 ») consider Tsonga the favourite for the tournament and are offering odds of 7/4 that he will come away victorious.
