Andy Murray Made Favourite For Dubai Open

British number one Andy Murray has been made favourite for the Dubai Open following the withdrawal of Roger Federer from the tournament.

The Scot gets his campaign underway today against Igor Kunitsyn and is priced 2/1 by Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») to lift the title.

Federer had been set to compete, but a lung infection is expected to keep him out of action for at least a fortnight.

However, Murray - who was beaten by the Swiss in the final of the Australian Open on his last outing - is not confident of victory in Dubai.

"I haven't practised or trained that much since Australia," he said. "I don't know how well I'll shape up or how well I'm going to play."

Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet ») offers odds of 6/4 for the world number four, while Nikolay Davydenko is second favourite at 3/1 and Novak Djokovic - who is the defending champion - is priced 7/2.
