Hatton: Khan fight is possible
Manchester-born Ricky Hatton has confirmed that a fight with current WBA light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan is a distinct possibility. Rumours of retirement have shrouded the 30-year-old after he was knocked out by Manny Pacquiao within two rounds at Las Vegas in May.
Commenting on a fight with Khan, Hatton said: "If I do decide to make a comeback and he (Khan) is still world champion and he's still at that level, then obviously being a light-welterweight, it is a possibility"
However, the Mancunian insisted that the bout will only occur if he is able to promote it.
Responding to questions about whether he aims to continue fighting, Hatton refused to offer a conclusive answer, stating that he is yet to make a definitive decision.
Despite no fight having been announced between the two, eager bookies have put up early odds and both athletes are offered at 10/11 for the win with Betfred(Go to Betfred »).
William Hill(Go to William Hill ») puts the chances of a draw at 25/1.
