Johnson: Woods fights better in the UK

Glen Johnson, a former IBF light-heavyweight champion, has stated that Clinton Woods may struggle against American Tavoris Cloud later this month as the fight is not being held in the UK.

Johnson, who has been matched with Woods on three previous occasions, said the Sheffield-based fighter will be "out of his comfort zone" when he faces Cloud in their August 28th bout.

He remarked: "Woods fought harder against me in our three fights we had over there in the UK than he did against Roy Jones and Antonio Tarver in the US."

The bout is to decide who will become the new IBF light-heavyweight champion, with the crown currently vacant.

US TV is willing to pay out more money for American fighters, Johnson added, which is why he is hoping Cloud will be the victor.

Skybet(Go to Skybet ») currently has Woods as the underdog at 6/4, while his opponent is considered the favourite at 4/7 with bookmaker William Hill(Go to William Hill »).
