Boxing Betting News - Haye: I'm Training Hard
British boxer David Haye has confirmed he is training hard for his upcoming WBA heavyweight title fight with Russian giant Nikolai Valuev. The outspoken Londoner said that his constant trash-talking is part of a wider strategy to talk his opponents out of their game, but that he is still putting maximum effort into preparing for the bout, Sky Sports News reports.
"I love winding people up, when they are wound up it puts me in the zone," he remarked, but added that he is "running further, jumping higher, hitting harder, doing more stuff than I did in previous training camps".
Valuev failed to show up to a recent press conference preceding the November 7th contest, in which Haye knocked the head off a cardboard cut-out of the seven foot fighter.
Current title holder Valuev is the underdog going into the match, with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») offering odds of 11/8 on him retaining the belt, while Expekt(Go to Expekt ») has Haye at 1/2.
