Boxing Betting - Valuev Training Regime "intense"

WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev has indicated that his training has been good heading into this week's title defence against David Haye in Nuremburg.

The 36-year-old Russian was quoted by Fightnews as saying he is "looking forward" to the match-up as he landed in the city yesterday afternoon.

"My preparation was very intense and focused and I want to defend the world title," he commented.

Valuev also revealed that his trip to Germany, where he has had seven of his last ten bouts, was more comfortable than usual as he got a seat with greater room to accommodate his 7ft frame.

Last month, challenger Haye, the former number one at cruiserweight, revealed that he has also been working hard in training, telling Sky News he has been doing everything better than he ever has before.

The Brit is 4/6 to win the fight at Stan James(Go to Stan James »), while Valuev is 6/4 to defend his title with a victory at Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports »).
