Boxing Betting - Haye: Klitschko's Clock Is Ticking
David Haye has called on Vitali Klitschko to fight him before it's too late. The outspoken boxer stated that, at 40, the WBC champion's "clock is ticking" in terms of proving his legacy.
"Vitali's greatest performance to date is a loss to Lennox Lewis," he remarked, adding that this is the fight he will be remembered for.
Haye also hit out at the quality of Klitschko's next title challenger Kevin Johnson, saying that a win over him will not make the Ukrainian one of the greatest fighters of all time.
According to the Londoner, who recently won the WBA heavyweight title, the fact that the bout is to take place in Switzerland is indicative of how uninteresting the contest is.
"Heavyweight title fights should be huge events, not an after-thought in a country most famous for producing Toblerones," he commented.
Despite there being no confirmation of the two facing each other, bookmakers are tipping Klitschko as the favourite in a potential match-up, with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports ») offering odds of 1/3 on him winning, whereas Betfred(Go to Betfred ») has Haye at 7/4.
