Pac Man To Fight Clottey In Dallas

Dallas, Texas is to be the setting for Manny Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title defence against Joshua Clottey in March.

Scheduled to take place on the 13th, the bout is to be staged at the Cowboys Stadium, usually home to the NFL team of the same name.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had originally tendered a bid to host the Pacquiao v Floyd Mayweather fight - in which the latter was a 4/7 favourite with Betfred(Go to Betfred ») - but confirmed he is still happy to hold Pac Man's first defence of his belt.

He remarked: "Manny defending his title against Joshua Clottey is not just a great event, it's a great fight and one we can showcase to the fullest in Cowboys Stadium."

According to Jones, the contest will be promoted as if it was the Super Bowl and he described Pacquiao as the world's "number one pound-for-pound attraction".

Those looking to wager on the Filipino pugilist to retain his belt can find odds of 1/2 on this eventuality at Skybet(Go to Skybet »).
