Mitchell 'ready To Outbox Katsidis'

West Ham follower Kevin Mitchell is to fight Michael Katsidis for the WBO interim lightweight title at Upton Park.

The 25-year-old, who is unbeaten in 31 previous bouts, is looking forward to appearing at the ground.

He is 8/11 with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports ») to emerge victorious and 8/13 with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») , while his promoter Frank Warren stated that the reception will be fantastic for the local hero.

Mitchell noted that boxing and football are a way of life in the east end of London and he cannot believe he is getting the opportunity to appear in the stadium of the club he supports.

"The fans in the [area] are very special people and to get the opportunity to fight in front of them is a dream come true," he added.

While offering his opponent praise for his ring craft, Mitchell observed that he expect to win on May 15th, a result that could see him get a chance to go for the full crown, as current champion Juan Manuel Marquez is likely to vacate soon.
