Mickelson favourite for AT&T Pro-Am
Phil Mickelson is a slight favourite in the golf betting to win the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am competition that gets underway tomorrow (February 12th ).Mickelson won the event in 1998, 2005 and 2007 and is the most fancied golfer at the bookmakers ahead of 2004 champion Vijay Singh and Padraig Harrington.Mike Weir, Jim Furyk and Tim Clark are the next best-backed to seize the crown off reigning champion Steve Lowery in the annual competition, which has been running for more than 70 years. Weir was picked out by Golf365 as a possible strong contender for the "specialist's tournament", given his run of top 16 finishes over the last eight years.Other golfers with a good chance, according to the odds, include last week's Buick Invitational winner Nick Watney, Kenny Perry, JC Choi and Davis Love III.Tiger Woods, who is celebrating the birth of a new child, will not be taking part.
