Woods impresses bookies at Doral
Tiger Woods has been made favourite to win this year's Open Championship, following an impressive display at Doral. The world number one returned for his first stroke-play event since undergoing knee surgery and finished in joint ninth position at the WGC-CA Championship. And bookmakers are now tipping him for a return to full form by the time July's tournament comes around, with Blue Square pricing him as short as 9/4.William Hill, meanwhile, has the American at odds of 5/2, having brought him in from 3/1 after the weekend's performance.Spokesman Rupert Adams explained that the bookie has been "seriously impressed" by Woods, as he looked "only slightly rusty"."We think that he will be bang back in form by the Open, where a Tiger triumph would cost us millions," said Adams. The WGC-CA Championship was won by fellow American Phil Mickelson, who has now risen to the number two spot in the rankings.
