McIlroy: Harrington's form is surprising
Golfer Rory McIlroy has admitted it is odd that Irishman Padraig Harrington's recent form has been so poor. The Northern Ireland player said "everyone was surprised" Harrington had suffered such a slump over the past few months. He said: "A three-time major winner then to have a poor run, it would not surprise me if he turned it around for the Open."Speaking at the BMW International Open he suggested that the Dubliner may have tried to make adjustments to his game that are not quite working. McIlroy - who came tenth in his US open debut on Monday - remarked that while he had played a few practice rounds with his fellow Irishman it was "completely different" to a competitive match. Bookmakers 888Sport (Go to 888sport ») currently have McIlroy at 25/1 to win the Open Championship next month. Former world number three Harrington is available at odds of 18/1 with Stan James (Go to Stan James »).
